Feed
All animals need to be fed, and guniea fowl are no exception to this. Although they will find a large proportion of their diet outside, they do need food to give them a bit of extra nutrients. Guinea fowl can be fed the same as chickens. Layers pellets are fine for them when they reach adult hood. New born guniea fowl (keets) should be fed on chick crumbs until they are 6 weeks old, when they can go onto growers. Start feeding layers pellets at about 16 weeks of age. Things like poultry spice can be added to give them extra vitamins.
Water
Always make sure that your guinea fowl have access to a supply of clean, fresh water. Ideally use a specially made drinker for water, as things like ponds can end up with the loss of a bird due to hem falling in it and drowning. Things can be added to water to give your birds extra vitamins. For example apple cider vinegar.
Your birds need to be mucked out regularly. You don't want them living in their own waste. Dirty bedding that has food scattered on it, will attract rodents like rats and mice, and birds like crows and magpies. These are a danger to young birds, as they wil lclean them. Dirty bedding can also lead to your birds becoming ill. Ideally you need to muck them out once a week.
